Teresa X. Nguyen is a California-based materials writer and the creator of ESL Garage, a bilingual (English-Vietnamese) YouTube channel for English language learners. She is also the co-author of Compelling Conversations -Vietnam: Speaking Exercises for Vietnamese Learners of English (2017), 60 Positive Activities for Every Classroom (2018), and 60 Positive Activities for Kids (2019). She also holds a full-time faculty position at Golden West College in surf-city Huntington Beach, California.

Her YouTube education projects, materials writing, and classrooms reflect over a decade of learning and teaching experience. The experiential basis for this communicative ESL textbook is her own struggles and successes as an international student studying abroad in Korea (2006), Spain (2007), and China (2008) as well as the depth and breath of her teaching experience. She has taught English language learners with positive, communicative activities from over 25 countries in China, Vietnam, and the United States. Her students have included a wide range from elementary school pupils to graduate students.
